BETHANY, W.Va. -
The Bobcats suffered their fifth loss of the season as they dropped a tight match to the Bethany College Bison, 4-1.
Freshman Matt Moffa (Eastern Tech/Baltimore, Md.) scored the only goal for FSU, his second of the season.
Head Coach Keith Byrnes said his team played well, but was hurt by the two corner-kick goals scored by Bethany's Papa Sane and Dan Irwin early in the first half.
"We might have had possesion of the ball longer than them," said Byrnes. "We took the same amount of shots, but they got a couple of lucky ones in."
In the second half, down 2-0 with 18 minutes left, Moffa stepped-up to the challenge and scored his second goal of the season, notching the scoreboard to 1-2.
The Bobcats continued to trade possesion with the Bison, but with 10 minutes left in the second half, Daniel Reinoso scored for the Bison to go up 3-1, and then Bethany's Dan Irwin scored with seven minutes left to seal the victory for the Bison.
The Bobcats, now 2-5-2, return to action Saturday, September 28th at home versus Point Park College at 1:00 p.m.
