DALLAS, PA —
Junior Matt Moffa (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Tech)
scored his second goal of the game with less than three minutes left in the first overtime to lift visiting Frostburg State to a 3-2 win over College Misericordia Saturday afternoon.
Moffa gave the Bobcats (2-2) a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute when he converted a pass from freshman Kenny Dotter (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point).
Misericordia (2-2) tied the game in the 18th minute with a goal from Sean Kraus and then moved in front in the 35th minute when John Staub found the net.
Frostburg State (2-2) pulled even in the 71st minute when freshman Trevor Havey (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) scored off an assist from senior Jamie Romano (Joppatowne, Md./John Carroll).
Moffa gave the Bobcats the victory in the 98th minute with his team-leading third goal of the season.
Sophomore Tom Sadler (Silver Spring, Md./Sandy Spring Friends) stopped four shots for his first win of the year.
“We worked really hard again and stepped it up when we fell behind by a goal,” said Bobcat Head Coach Keith Byrnes. “It’s nice to get this ‘W’ after a good week of practice.”
The Bobcats return to action Sunday when they visit Wilkes at 2:00 pm.
