FROSTBURG, MD –
Frostburg State is ranked tenth in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Mid-Atlantic Regional standings.
FSU (9-4-2), which is 9-1-2 in its last 12 matches, had outstanding performances in its last three matches. Last week, the Bobcats blanked host Waynesburg 2-0, shutout Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Greensburg 1-0, then edged top-ranked President’s Athletic Conference team Westminster, 3-2.
This week's rankings represent the first time the Bobcats have enjoyed regional recognition since the 2001 season where they entered the Eastern College Athletic Conference seeded sixth with a 12-6-1 season record.
Based in Mission, Kan., the NSCAA is the largest coaches' organization in the United States. Since its founding in 1941, it has grown to include more than 16,000 members who coach both genders at all levels of the sport.
