FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State men's tennis team beat Penn State Behrend, 6-3, Saturday afternoon at the Cordts Tennis Complex.
FSU is 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference while PSB is 2-13 overall and 2-2 in the AMCC.
Sophomore Andy Chisholm (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) captured the title in No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Miles Boyea. In No. 2 singles, freshman Greg Shedd (Middletown, Md./Middletown) downed Garrett Greiek 6-1, 6-1 while in No. 3 singles action, sophomore Matt Chisholm (La Plata, Md./La Plata) beat Jim Palmer, 7-6, 6-2.
Tom Wetzel came from behind to win No. 4 singles over James Getty, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 and junior Chris Schoenbauer (Riva, Md./South River) recorded a victory over Brian Kaleta in No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-1.
The Chisholm tandem won the only doubles match for the Bobcats on the afternoon, beating Boyea and Getty, 8-4, in the No. 1 spot.
The Bobcats host Washington & Jefferson tomorrow at noon.
