GREENSBURG, Pa. -
Senior Chris Schoenbauer (Riva, Md./South River)
and junior Andy Chisholm (Pylesville, Md./North Harford)
won both their singles and doubles matches to account for all four of Frostburg State’s points as it lost to Penn State Behrend, 4-5, Saturday at the Greensburg Raquet Club.
FSU is 6-5 overall on the season and 4-1 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. With the loss, the Bobcats slip into a tie for first place in the league with the Lions.
Schoenbauer defeated James Getty in No. 5 singles, 6-2 6-2, and combined with classmate Brad Yoder (Hyndman, Pa./Christian Liberty Academy) to win No. 3 doubles, 8-4.
A. Chisholm rallied past Miles Boyea for a win in No. 2 singles. Chisholm trailed 5-7 after the first set but posted a 6-0 second set and a 6-3 third set to earn the win. He and junior Ryan Rice (Hampton, Va./Shape American) won No. 2 doubles over Jim Palmer and Garrett Grenek 9-8.
The Bobcats return to action on Tuesday, April 10 when they travel to Penn State Altoona at 3:00 pm.
