High school students planning to go to a Frostburg State University have a much larger group of disciplines to choose from and still qualify for the Maryland Hope Scholarship Program.
The Hope Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school students who will attend college full-time in Maryland with the promise of working full-time in the state of
Maryland following graduation for one year for each year of assistance received. FSU students would be eligible for $3,000 per year.
FSU's eligible majors for the 2001-2002 school year are Accounting, Art and Design, Business Administration, Economics, General English, Environmental Analysis and Planning, Foreign Languages and Literature, Geography, History, International Studies, Justice Studies, Mass Communications, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Recreation & Parks Management, Social Science, Social Work, Sociology, Speech Communication and Theater and Wildlife and Fisheries.
The majors are chosen because they are programs that will lead to jobs that are considered areas of shortage in the state of Maryland.
