11/26/2002

FROSTBURG, MD — Frostburg State seniors George O'Brien (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) and Allen Jordan (Edgewood, Md./Edgewood) have been selected to play in the Second Annual East Coast Bowl on Saturday, November 30 at Historic Field in Petersburg, Va. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:10 pm.

O'Brien, a defensive tackle, and Jordan, a defensive end, are among 15 Division III players chosen to participate. Rosters are made up primarily of Division II players from the East coast.

Scouts from the Arena League, National Football League and Canadian Football League will be in attendance.

"It's an honor to have two players from Frostburg State selected to participate in this game," said Bobcat head coach Rubin Stevenson. "It goes to show the level at which we compete, and it's great for George and Allen, as well as Frostburg State University and the Bobcat football program."

O'Brien and Jordan helped lead the FSU to a 6-5 overall finish and a perfect 3-0 mark in the Atlantic Central Football Conference.

The Bobcats won their second ACFC championship and their third Regents Cup title and earned a berth in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Southwest Championship Game.

FSU dropped three contests by just three points each and fell twice in overtime by six points apiece.
