FROSTBURG, MD —
Frostburg State junior running back Tim Pearson (Lake Clifton/Baltimore, Md.)
and freshman linebacker Chris Lentz (Broad Run/Ashburn, Va.)
were each recognized by the Atlantic Central Football Conference on Monday for their efforts in the Bobcats' 37-7 win over 14th-ranked Salisbury in the Fourth Annual Regents Cup Game this past Saturday.
Pearson earned ACFC Offensive Player of the Week honors after sparking the Bobcat ground game with a career-high 162 yards and two touchdowns in the dominating performance.
His first carry was a nine-yard scamper into the endzone following a Seagull turnover, and he later added a 20-yard scoring run to give the Bobcats a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter.
Lentz took home his third ACFC Rookie of the Week award of the year after forcing three fumbles, recording six tackles (three solos, two for loss) and breaking up a pass.
Two of his forced fumbles led to first-quarter touchdowns and the third created a field goal opportunity.
