FROSTBURG, Md. —
Senior Anna Routzahn (Fairfax, Va./Frederick)
, junior Jessica Clingan (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport)
and sophomore Sumer Rohrs (Frostburg, Md./Forest)
will be representing Frostburg State this coming weekend at the NCAA Track & Field Indoor National Championships at Rose Hulman Institute in Terre Haute, Ind.
Rohrs, who is making her second-straight trip to the championships, currently holds the nation’s fastest time (8.14) in the 55-meter hurdles this season. She has set the school record in that event on two seperate occasions this season with the current record coming at the 18th Annual Bucknell Winter Classic. Last winter as a freshman, Rohrs finished sixth in the same event at championships.
She will also compete in the 55-meter dash after qualifying with a season and personal best time of 7.26.
Clingan will compete at the championships in both the 55-meter dash and hurdles and is ranked 10th in the hurdles with a 8.36. Last weekend at the ECAC Championships, Clingan fourth in the 200-meter dash (26.10) and eighth in the 55-meter hurdles (8.49).
Routzahn is currently ranked sixth in the country in the high jump with a height of 1.69 meters (5 ft., 6.5 in.). She finished second in that event this past weekend at the ECAC’s with a height of 1.67 meters (5 ft., 5.75 in.)
Rohrs and Clingan will run in the preliminaries in both events on Friday evening with the finals taking place on Saturday while the high jump will be contested on Friday.
The top eight women in each event will earn All-American status.
