NEW YORK — Sophomore Beth Sauder (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) was the lone member of FSU's women team to compete at the New York University Invitational Saturday, finishing 134th out of 285 runners with a time of 22:11.34.
Moravian won the women's title, scoring 63 points and placing three runners in the top five, including individual champion Heidi Wolfsberger (18:19.76). The College of New Jersey was second with 71 points, while Geneseo (114), Bowdoin (123) and Ithaca (138) rounded out the top five.
"This was a very competitive field, and we showed progress over our last meet (Sept. 8 at Lebanon Valley)," said head coach Randy Lowe, who took selected varsity members to the prestigious meet.
Frostburg State will compete in the Dickinson College Invitational in Carlisle, Pa., on Saturday.
