Seven Frostburg State University women's soccer players were named to the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Team, the league announced today. Four Bobcats were voted to the first team, while three others earned honorable mention honors.
Leading the list for FSU was junior forward Amy Foote (Baltimore, Md./Patapsco), who topped the Bobcats with 15 goals and added four assists to rank second on the team with 36 points.
Midfielders Danielle Foote (Baltimore, Md./Patapsco) and Jessica Linkins (Sudlersville, Md./Queen Annes) also earned first team honors. Foote, a junior, recorded four goals and four assists for 12 points to go along with strong defensive play from the midfield.
Linkins, a freshman, was second on the Bobcat squad with 12 goals and added eight assists for 32 points, ranking her third on the team.
Junior defender Jessica Schmidt (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Technical) was also voted to the first team, helping lead a Bobcat defense that allowed just 2.12 goals per game.
Sophomore forward Angie Weaver (Alburtis, Pa./Brandywine Heights), senior defender Chiara Deiaco (Westminster, Md./North Carroll) and senior goalkeeper Jessica Richardson (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) each earned honorable mention honors.
Weaver led the team with 38 points, scoring 12 goals and setting a school single-season record with 14 assists. Deiaco recorded one assist while anchoring the Bobcat defense, while Richardson posted a 6-3 record with a 1.72 goals against average and one shutout.
The Bobcats finished 11-7 overall and advanced to the AMCC Championship game, where they were edged by Penn State Behrend, 5-4.
