Singer/Songwriter Fran Snyder to Appear at Frostburg State University
04/12/2001

Campus favorite Fran Snyder will perform on Friday, April 20 at 8 p.m. in Lane Center Loft at Frostburg State University. As part of the Café Frostburg series, his appearance is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Born in Quebec and raised in the United States, Snyder shares his vocal, songwriting and guitar skills with audiences throughout the country. His music, described as stylistically between that of Dave Matthews and Peter Gabriel, features powerful imagery and allegory to explore socio-political issues in ways that connect emotionally with listeners. JAM magazine says that his songs "…go beyond the heartfelt, often bordering on spiritual."

Having opened for such acts as Shawn Mullins, Shawn Colvin, the Cowboy Junkies and Dan Fogelberg, Snyder has achieved the kind of sound and exposure that has won him "Best Solo Act" and "Best Overall Performer" in Florida. He has released three compact disks entitled "Children," "Someone is Watching" and "Stir."
