DOVER, DE —
Frostburg State sophomore running back Matt Swanke (Baltimore, Md./Landsdowne)
was named the Atlantic Central Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in a 28-12 season-opening win over Apprentice Saturday.
Swanke carried 15 times for a career-high 115 yards, a 7.7-yard average, and a touchdown as the Bobcats rallied from a 12-7 deficit by scoring the final 21 points of the game.
Swanke also added four catches for 24 yards.
Salisbury sophomore linebacker Jacquis McGray was named the ACFC Defensive Player of the Week after making 14 tackles in his first career start, a 37-6 win over William Paterson.
Apprentice freshman linebacker Leroy Bracey took home ACFC Rookie of the Week honors with 12 tackles and a forced fumble in the loss to Frostburg State.
The Bobcats return to action this Saturday when they host Montclair State at 1:00 pm.
