WASHINGTON, PA —
Host Washington & Jefferson posted a sweep of Frostburg State in a swimming and diving dual meet Saturday afternoon. The Presidents took the men's matchup, 124-88, and outscored the Bobcats, 122-85, in women's action.
On the men's side, FSU (0-2) captured five events.
Freshman Chris Williams (Baltimore City College/Baltimore, Md.) won both the 50-yard freestyle (22.99) and the 100-yard freestyle (50.75), while freshman Jay Ferrari (Riverhill/Columbia, Md.) claimed the 100-yard butterfly (55.62).
Junior Jay Mayden (Arlington Baptist/Baltimore, Md.) claimed the 200-yard IM (2:06.92) and finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.25).
Williams, junior Ryan Kentrus (Patuxent/Lusby, Md.), freshman Sean Leaman (Bethesda-Chevy Chase/Bethesda, Md.) and freshman C.C. Williams (Fort Mill/Fort Mill, S.C.) teamed to win the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:36.74.
On the women's side, freshman Heather Hamor (Lackey/Nanjemoy, Md.) claimed the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:47.49 and later teamed with sophomore Melody Hanna (Beall/Frostburg, Md.), senior Lauren Crystal (Atholton/Columbia, Md.) and junior Christina Wolf (Patuxent/Lusby, Md.) to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:51.97.
Freshman Kristen Moats (Loudoun County/Leesburg, Va.) turned in a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (2:04.28), while sophomore Audrey Shipe (Northern Garrett/Oakland, Md.) was the runner-up in the 1-meter diving with 132.3 points.
Frostburg State returns to action November 16 in a tri-meet with Grove City and West Virginia Wesleyan in Grove City, Pa.
