Noted actor and author Norman Dietz will present his one-man show, "Testament: A Life of Jesus," at Frostburg State University on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m in the Lane University Center's Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall.
Calling his presentation "a testament for the 21st century," Dietz interweaves verses from the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John to create a compelling portrait of Jesus as a man of action who struggled against the religious and political establishment of his era. Dietz uses language that is contemporary and colloquial, yet true to the elegant, poetic cadences of the King James Version of the Bible. His goal is to present what he calls "a tale of understandable human emotion and political conflict…[that] celebrates the impenetrable mystery of human existence."
"Norman Dietz has achieved some notable results, " says The New York Times. "Colorful and religiously vibrant work."
