ERIE, PA —
Three Frostburg State student-athletes were named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Athletes of the Week in the league's weekly announcement Monday.
Senior Amy Foote (Baltimore, Md./Patapsco) earned AMCC Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week honors after scoring three goals in three FSU wins to become the school's all-time leading goal scorer with 44 tallies.
Foote notched the record-setter to open the scoring in the Bobcats' 10-0 win over Penn State Altoona in front of a home crowd on Sunday.
She also added three assists last week, giving her 108 career points, just two shy of the Erin Hawley's school record.
Sophomore Beth Sauder (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) took home AMCC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this year after leading the Bobcats to a second-place finish at Saturday's Maryland Collegiate Championships. Sauder posted a time of 21:36 to place 23rd out of 87 runners.
Finally, freshman Kirsten Getz (Frostburg, Md./Beall) earned her second AMCC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week award this season after turning in wins at the top singles and doubles flights against Penn State Altoona. Getz improved to 10-0 in singles and 7-2 in doubles this year.
