Three Frostburg State University women's lacrosse players have been named to the 2001 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Southern All-Star team in a vote by the region's Division III coaches.
Senior attacker Heather Brown (Columbia, Md./Hammond) and junior defender Adey Ntam (Silver Spring, Md./John F. Kennedy) were both named to the second team, while senior midfielder Darla Burns (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin) earned honorable mention honors.
Brown enjoyed a career year after leading the Bobcats in both scoring (74 points) and assists (32). She also finished second on the squad with 42 goals and set personal highs in all three offensive categories.
Ntam led FSU with a career-high 92 ground balls and added four goals and two assists while helping the Bobcat defense hold opponents to 10.4 goals per game.
She was named to the Brine/Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association South Atlantic Regional All-America Second Team for the second consecutive season.
Burns led the team with a career-high 52 goals and added 12 assists to give her 64 points on the season. She also ranked second on the squad with 62 ground balls and scored three or more goals in 11 of FSU's 14 games.
Burns was recently selected to play for the South squad in the Division III Senior North/South All-Star Game June 9 at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore as part of the 2001 STX Lacrosse Festival.
