Three Frostburg State football players were named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Southwest football all-star team in a vote by the coaches in the region.
Senior linebacker John McElhenny (Woodbridge, Va./Gar-Field) was named to the first team defensive unit after ranking fourth in the Atlantic Central Football Conference with 92 tackles (54 solos) and tying for seventh with 13 tackles for loss.
Senior linebacker Chris Seguinot (Fairfax, Va./Robinson) and sophomore defensive end Allen Jordan (Edgewood, Md./Edgewood) each earned honorable mention honors. Seguniot finished second in the ACFC with 99 tackles, including a league-best 63 solo stops. He also recorded six pass breakups, three interceptions and a fumble recovery.
Jordan led the ACFC with 9.0 sacks and 21 tackles for losses of 94 yards. He also tied for 15th in the conference with 7.2 tackles per game.
Running back R.J. Bowers of Grove City was voted the region's Player of the Year after becoming college football's all-time leading rusher (7,353 yards) and all-time leading scorer (562 points).
Salisbury State freshman quarterback Mac Mollet was named the region's Rookie of the Year. He completed 45-of-100 passes for 454 yards and three touchdowns and added 176 rushing yards on 97 attempts.
