FAIRFAX, Va. —
The Frostburg State men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at the George Mason Winter Open Invitational this past Saturday.
Freshman Brian Leiter (New Windsor, Md./Francis Scott Key) had the highest finish of any FSU runner setting a personal record and qualifying for the Eastern College Athletic Conference after taking second in the 800-meter run in 1:57.06.
Senior Ron Lipscomb (Lonaconing, Md./Northern Garrett) captured fourth in the 3,000-meter run with a personal best time of 9:05.19 while freshman Michael Sieman (Frostburg Md./Bishop Walsh) was 19th in the 500-meter dash in 1:11.71.
On the women’s side, freshman Sumer Rohrs (Frostburg, Md./Forest (Fl.)) was 12th in the 400-meter dash and set a personal record in 59.83. In the same event, sophomore Adrienne Raiford (Capitol Heights, Md./Gwynn Park) was 14th (personal record 1:00.21) and freshman Ashlee Resh (Sipesville, Pa./Somerset) was 26.
Resh also took home 20th place in the 200-meter dash in a personal record 27.71.
Frostburg State returns to action on March 3-5 at the ECAC Division III Indoor Championships.
