Frostburg State University Theatre will open its 2006-2007 season with the hit musical “Urinetown,” with music and lyrics by Mark Holloman and book and lyrics by Greg Kotis, on Oct. 6, 7, 12, 13, 14 at 7:30 and Oct. 7 and 14 at 2 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center Drama Theatre.
“Urinetown,” inspired by the works of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, is a boy-meets-girl romance that takes place during the revolutionary time in the near future when private toilets are banned and water is worth its weight in gold. “Urinetown” is a witty, irreverent, and completely original play that both satirizes and honors the rich traditions of musical theatre, touching on everything from “West Side Story” to “Les Misberables”.
Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for students. Season Discount Flex Cards are also available. For $30 you receive 4 main stage tickets- a $10 savings. You may spread tickets throughout the main stage season, or use all 4 tickets at one show.
For reservations, call (301) 687-7462, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The box office opens one hour prior to curtain. Group discounts are available when booked in advance.
