Very sad news for our entire University community, Funeral arrangements for Bernard Wynder announced
It is with incredible sadness that I must inform you that Bernard Wynder, assistant vice president for Student and Educational Services and a mentor and friend to countless Frostburg students over the years, was found dead on Thursday, June 20, in his home.
Bernie worked for FSU in a variety of roles for most of the time since he graduated from here in 1978, and he played an enormous role in creating the diverse, vibrant community it is today. This is great loss to this University, the students for whom he cared so much, his colleagues who loved and respected him, his friends and his beloved family.
Arrangements are being handled by the Durst Funeral Home in Frostburg. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home at 57 Frost Ave. The funeral will be Monday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at the Frostburg United Methodist Church, 38 W. Main St. His obituary can be accessed here.
Bernie had been on sick leave from the University following a recent knee injury and related surgery. Please keep his loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.
