— Frostburg State finished its three-game road trip Sunday with a win at second-place Pitt-Bradford to clinch the regular-season Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference title.
The Bobcats (21-9, 10-0) split the first two games with the host Panthers (10-12, 7-3), 30-26 and 24-30, before taking control in the final two games.
FSU moved in front early in the third game early and won, 30-17. The Bobcats then cruised to a 30-22 victory in the fourth game.
The win keeps the Bobcats undefeated in AMCC play and clinches the top-seed and hosting rights for the conference tournament which is scheduled for November 1st and 2nd.
Junior Kelli Bumgarner (Calvert/Chesapeake Beach, Md.) had a huge day for the Bobcats, as she led the team with 12 kills and a career-high 26 digs. Sophomore Sam Seyfferth (Broadneck/Annapolis, Md.) added 21 digs for a Frostburg State defense that was all over the court.
Senior Stacy Bureau (Richard Montgomery/Rockville, Md.) added 11 kills and five service aces for the Bobcats. Freshman Carly McDonald (Northern/Owings, Md.) led Frostburg State with 31 assists on the day.
Frostburg State returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts AMCC opponent Pitt-Greensburg at 7:00 p.m.
