- Frostburg State University (14-2, 2-0) volleyball extended its winning streak as they cruised through Lake Erie College on Friday night 30-17, 30-18, and 30-9. With the victory the Bobcats have now won 11 matches in a row, including winning their last 22 games in a row over the last eight matches. The win also extends their current AMCC winning streak to 16 matches in a row.
The Bobcats received a total team effort as five freshmen shined: Alana Boyle (Loudoun Valley/Purcellville, Va) led the team with six kills, Lauren Weller (Gaithersburg/Gaithersburg, Md.) and Kelly May (Fort Hill/Cumberland, Md.) each recorded four kills. Amanda Hernandez (Arundel/Crofton, Md.) added 20 assists and four service aces while Lori Potts (Loudoun Valley/Purcellville, Va.) had seven digs.
Junior Lauren Petrick (North Caroline/Denton, Md.) had with four services aces and added three kills in limited time, as the Bobcats recorded 19 total aces in the match. Senior Kelli Bumgarner (Calvert/Chesapeake Beach, Md.) who also saw limited action recorded three kills.
The Bobcats will look to continue their winning streak as they travel to Penn State Behrend to face Behrend and Grove City in a tri-match beginning at 11:00 a.m.
