JOHNSTOWN, PA —
Frostburg State saw its 14-match winning streak come to end with a 3-0 loss to Division II Pitt-Johnstown Thursday night.
Pitt-Johnstown won the opening game 30-23 before following with 30-16 victories in games two and three.
The Lady Cats won for the sixth time in their last seven outings to improve to 16-5, while Frostburg State fell to 17-3 with its first loss since a 3-2 setback to Catholic September 1.
Junior Lauren Petrick (North Caroline/Denton, Md.) led FSU with nine kills, while freshman Kelly May (Fort Hill/Cumberland, Md.) added seven kills.
Sophomore Carly McDonald (Northern/Owings, Md.) and junior Jodi Carpenter (Linganore/Mt. Airy, Md.) had six kills each.
Junior Carrie Ness (Francis Scott Key/Taneytown, Md.) led the Bobcats with 30 assists, while classmate Sam Seyfferth (Broadneck/Annapolis, Md.) recorded 19 digs.
The Bobcats return to action on Saturday in a tri-match at Pitt-Bradford. FSU looks to extend its 17-match AMCC winning streak when it takes on UPB at 11:00 am and will also face SUNY Fredonia at 1:00 pm.
