Frostburg, Md — Frostburg State swept visiting La Roche College 3-0, to improve its overall record to 16-8, and remain perfect in the AMCC at 6-0.
The Bobcats took control early in the first game and scored the last seven points, six of those served by freshman Carly McDonald (Northern/Owings, Md.), to take game one 30-17.
Game two was back and forth until Frostburg State scored eight of the last nine points, again with McDonald serving the last four points for the win, 30-24.
The final game had the Bobcats jump out early and hold on as La Roche (6-11, 3-4), rallied to score 11 of 14 points before FSU scored the final point to win 30-28 and complete the sweep of the Redhawks.
Senior Stacy Bureau (Richard Montgomery/Rockville, Md.) led the way for the Bobcats as she had 13 kills. McDonald had seven kills and six service aces to aid the Bobcats in their sweep of La Roche.
Frostburg State returns to action on Thursday when it hosts Penn State Altoona, in a conference match, at 6:30 p.m. at Bobcat Arena.
