Frostburg, MD —
Frostburg State extended its 14-match overall and 17-match Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference winning streaks with a 3-0 victory over Pitt-Greensburg on Tuesday night. The Bobcats (17-2, 4-0 AMCC) led early and often, as they grabbed a 10-5 lead in each of the three games never looked back, winning 30-16, 30-20 and 30-17.
Juniors Lauren Petrick (North Caroline/Denton, Md.) and Carrie Ness (Francis Scott Key/Taneytown, Md.) led the way. Petrick had three service aces and Ness who added 24 assists, three blocking assists and one solo block.
Sophomore Carly McDonald (Northern/Owings, Md.) and senior Kelli Bumgarner (Calvert/Chesapeake Beach, Md.) tied for the team lead with seven kills. Also contributing for the Bobcats was freshman Lori Potts (Loudoun Valley/ Purcellville, Va.), who had six digs.
The Bobcats, who are winners of 39 of their last 41 games, will look to continue their winning streak when they travel to Pitt-Johnstown on Thursday, October 2nd at 7:00 p.m.
FSU returns to AMCC action this weekend as it will travel to Pitt-Bradford for a tri-match against Bradford and SUNY Fredonia starting at 11:00 a.m.
