— The Frostburg State women’s volleyball team swept Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent La Roche 3-0 Tuesday night to extend its winning streak to 13 matches. Game scores were 30-14, 30-16 and 30-22.
The Bobcats improved to 23-4 overall and 6-0 in the AMCC while winning their school-record 37th straight game. La Roche fell to 10-9 overall and 3-3 in the conference.
Seniors Jodi Carpenter (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) and Lauren Petrick (Denton, Md./North Caroline) paced the Bobcats with 11 kills each, while Carpenter added nine digs. Sophomore Kelly May (Flintstone, Md./Fort Hill) had nine kills while junior Tara Emerick (Hyndman, Pa./Hyndman (Allegany College)) had seven.
Sophomore Amanda Hernandez (Crofton, Md./Arundel) recorded 23 assists and 11 digs and senior Carrie Ness (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) had 14 assists and five service aces. Senior Sam Seyfferth (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) posted 20 digs.
The Bobcats return to action Saturday when play three matches at Penn State Behrend. FSU faces host Penn State Behrend at 11:00 am, Slippery Rock at 1:00 pm and Ohio Wesleyan at 3:00 pm.
