— Frostburg State jumped on visiting Pitt-Greensburg Tuesday night and never looked back, as it remains unbeaten in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play.
The Bobcats (22-9, 11-0) jumped out early 19-6 in game one and cruised to a 30-17 victory. Game two was never in doubt as FSU got out to a 22-14 lead over the visiting Bobcats (3-22, 1-9) and won 30-23. Frostburg State closed out the sweep with a 30-24 victory in game three and remains perfect in AMCC play.
Junior Kelli Bumgarner (Clavert/Chesapeake Beach, Md) led the way for the Bobcats with 15 kills and seven digs. Freshman Carly McDonald (Northern/Owings, Md.), the AMCC player of the week last week, added 13 kills and four service aces for Frostburg State.
Sophomore Carrie Ness (Francis Scott Key/Taneytown, Md.) had 31 assists on the day for the Bobcats.
Frostburg State returns to action next Monday, when it travels to LaRoche College for the final regular-season match of the season. The Bobcats will look to go unbeaten in AMCC play for the fourth time in the last five years. The AMCC tournament will be held at Frostburg State on November 1st and 2nd, game times to be announced.
