Frostburg State University volleyball (10-2) won its first two games on Friday night and finished a perfect 3-0 in Pool B with a victory Saturday morning as they begin play in the Maryland State Division III Tournament. The Bobcats defeated McDaniel University, Goucher College, and Hood College in three games each.
In their first match, the Bobcats rolled through McDaniel 30-8, 30-26, 30-24. FSU continued to dominate into the second match as they defeated Goucher 30-19, 30-22, 30-10. Frostburg State concluded the pool portion of the Maryland State Division III Tournament with a victory over Hood College 30-19, 30-10, 30-20 to win Pool B heading into this afternoons tournament style play.
The Bobcats as a team performed almost perfectly as they served up 59 aces in the three games. As a team they recorded 106 kills for a kill percentage of .398 as a team.
Leading the way was Lauren Petrick with 20 kills, followed closely by Lauren Weller's 14 kills. Amanda Hernandez recorded 10 aces and 55 assists and she split time with Carrie Ness who added 9 aces and 35 assists.
Finishing 3-0 in Pool B the Bobcats will face Salisbury University at 2:00 p.m. with the winner moving on to the championship game at 5:00 p.m.
