ERIE, PA —
Frostburg State junior Jon Wieland (Woodbridge, Va./Hylton)
has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week for the second straight week, the league announced Monday.
Wieland scored twice and had four assists in two games of the AMCC Tournament to lead the Bobcats to their second straight conference championship.
Wieland recorded a goal and three assists in a 9-0 win over Penn State Altoona in the conference semifinals, and he notched the game-winner and assisted on FSU's other goal as the Bobcats blanked league rival Penn State Behrend, 2-0, in the title match.
Wieland, who has found the net six times in the last four games, is tied for the team lead with nine goals and tops the Bobcats with 14 assists and 32 points.
Frostburg State (12-6-1) earned a berth in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Region Tournament and will visit Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
