Senior Tracey Little (La Vale, Md./Allegany)
scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Frostburg State to a 62-48 win over Pitt-Bradford in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opener for both teams Friday night.
The Bobcats improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the AMCC, while the Panthers fell to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the league.
Little scored 13 of FSU's first 17 points as the Bobcats opened a 23-13 advantage en route to a 29-24 halftime lead.
The Bobcats began the second stanza with a 17-5 run to build a 46-29 bulge with 11:35 remaining.
The Panthers pulled to within 49-38 with 4:51 to play, but that's as close as they would get.
Junior Kelly True (Warfordsburg, Pa./Southern Fulton) added 17 points and seven rebounds, while junior Stephanie Watts (Baltimore, Md./North County (CCBC-Catonsville)) had five points, five rebounds, five steals and four blocks.
Dani Hamilton led Pitt-Bradford with 11 points, and Brittany McLean added 10 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
The Bobcats return to action tomorrow when they visit defending AMCC champion Penn State Behrend at 4:00 pm.
