tied her career high with eight goals in Frostburg State’s 14-9 win over visiting Shenandoah in women’s lacrosse action Thursday afternoon.
The Bobcats (4-1) started the game with five consecutive goals in the first seven minutes of play.
Three of those goals came from Macey, while the other two were netted by sophomore Stefanie Ritz (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) and freshman Maria Schrum (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake).
Shenandoah (4-2) would not score until 22:37. The Hornets scored again at 16:55 to make the score 5-2.
Junior Ann Long (New Market, Md./Linganore) scored her first goal of the season to put FSU further ahead. At the break, Frostburg State held a 9-4 advantage.
In the second half, Macey scored the next four goals for the Bobcats. Schrum ended the scoring for FSU with 3:01 left in the game.
Sophomore goalie Rachael Lewis (Laurel, Md./Wilde Lake) made 20 saves to pick up the win.
Frostburg State returns to action next week in West Palm Beach, Fla., where it will play Plymouth State on Monday and Colby on Tuesday.
