FROSTBURG, MD —
Two members of the Frostburg State women’s soccer team are among the national statistical leaders in this week’s NCAA Division III rankings.
Senior forward Karen Kotofski (Glen Burnie, Md./Northeast) is ranked in the top seven in three categories. She is third in the nation with 4.0 points per game, fifth with 1.11 assists per game and seventh with 1.44 goals per game.
Kotofski had 13 goals, 10 assists and 36 points in nine games through this past Sunday.
Addtionally, Kotofski’s six goals in an 11-0 win over Pitt-Bradford September 26 is the highest single-game total in Division III so far this season.
She added two assists in the game to finish with 14 points, which ties for the highest single-game total in the nation this year.
Junior Beth Hlebasko (New Market, Md./Linganore) entered the week ranked 13th in the nation with 0.89 assists per game, dishing out eight helpers in nine contests.
Frostburg State is ranked seventh in the country in team scoring offense, averaging 4.89 goals per game.
The Bobcats, 6-2-2 overall and 3-1 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, return to action Saturday when they visit Hilbert at 1:00 pm.
