- Frostburg State dropped a 3-1 decision to Dickinson in the final of the Dickinson Red Devil Invitational Sunday afternoon.
Dickinson (3-0) opened the scoring on a goal by Bry Hagmann at the 15:54 mark.
FSU (2-1) bounced back as junior Karen Kotofski (Northeast/Glen Burnie, Md.) took a pass from sophomore Beth Hlebasko (Linganore/New Market, Md.) and beat Dickinson goalkeeper Alanna Schectman to tie the game at 1-1 going into halftime.
The goal was Kotofski's fourth of the season as she has now scored in all three games this year.
Hlebasko's assist was her second on the year and the the weekend as she tallied a goal and an assist in Saturday's win over Buffalo State.
Alyssa Carlow netted the game-winner for Dickinson at 74:29, and Jessica Griggs added an insurance goal with just under five minutes remaining.
The Bobcats will look to rebound on Wednesday, September 10 as they will travel to Eastern Mennonite for a 4:30 pm match.
FSU will then open its home schedule this weekend with two games. The Bobcats will battle Carnegie Mellon on Saturday in a rematch of last season's turning point 1-0 upset over the Tartans and then take on Allegheny (Pa.) on Sunday. Both matches will begin at 1:00 pm.
