— Several Frostburg State women’s soccer players set single-season and career records this year.
Senior forward Karen Kotofski (Glen Burnie, Md./Northeast) set a single-season mark with 54 points on 21 goals and 12 assists. She surpassed her former total of 53 points she set in 2003.
Kotofski also set a school career record with 26 assists, moving past Erin Hawley’s mark of 25 set from 1994-1997. Kotofski continued to add to her FSU all-time records for both goals and points as well, finishing her career with 83 goals and 192.
Sophomore Danielle Carter (Rockville, Md./Rockville) also etched her name in the FSU record books. She netted three hat-tricks this season, tying Kotofski’s single-season mark set in 2001.
Carter also set a single-season school record with seven multi-goal scoring games this year, season breaking the old record of six set by Kotofski in 2003.
Junior Beth Hlebasko (New Market, Md./Linganore) recorded 12 assists this season to give her 26 for her career, tying Kotofski atop the all-time list.
Senior goalie Kelly Jones (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) posted a 0.83 goals against average to tie Sharon Colantonio’s single-season school record set in 1997.
As a team, the Bobcats also broke school records for goals against average (0.67), save percentage (.849) and assists (51) and tied the mark for shutouts (10).
