- Frostburg State will travel to play Westminster (Pa.) College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
This is the third consecutive year that FSU (14-2-2) will play Westminster (14-6-2) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. These two teams also squared off in the regular season in 2002 and 2003.
The Bobcats won both meetings last year including a thrilling 3-2 victory for their first-ever NCAA Tournament win. The game also marked the first time that Frostburg State hosted an NCAA Tournament game. Earlier in the season FSU won 1-0, also at home.
The Bobcats earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's automatic bid, when they beat visiting Penn State Behrend 3-2 in double overtime Saturday afternoon. This was the fourth consecutive season that FSU won the AMCC Tournament Championship.
