FROSTBURG, MD —
The Frostburg State women’s soccer team is ranked No. 10 in this week’s NSCAA/adidas Great Lakes Regional poll.
This is the first time this season the Bobcats have been ranked.
FSU earned a bid into the tournament after winning a penalty-kick shootout, 4-3, against Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference rival Penn State Behrend on Saturday. The game was scoreless after two overtime periods and had to go to a shootout. Senior Jodie Gittleson (Rockville, Md./Wootton) clinched the win after knocking in the team’s fourth shot.
Frostburg State will travel to No. 3 Denison Friday to play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Game time is set for 7:30 pm. Admission to all games will be $6 for adults, $3 for students and senior citizens and $2 for children ages 3-12.
