FROSTBURG, MD –
The Frostburg State women’s soccer team placed six players on the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Soccer Team released Monday.
First team representatives are seniors Jodie Gittleson (Rockville, Md./Wootton) and Beth Hlebasko (New Market, Md./Linganore), junior Danielle Carter (Rockville, Md./Rockville) and sophomore Jen Naylor (Riva, Md./St. Mary's).
Gittleson finished the season with four goals and four assists, while Hlebasko led the team with seven assists and added one goal.
Carter was also named Co-Player of the Year with La Roche’s Nicole Jacobs. She paced the Bobcats with 11 goals and 23 points. Naylor is second on the team with nine goals.
Senior Teri Galt (Silver Spring, Md./Good Counsel) and sophomore Molly Whyte (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) were chosen to the second team.
Galt is a defender that started in 17 games, while Whyte closed out the season with a .058 goals against average, a save percentage of .864 and five shutouts.
Frostburg State is 11-5-3 and 8-0-1 in the AMCC. They will travel to Denison for the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament Friday, November 11 beginning at 7:30 pm.
