FROSTBURG, MD —
Junior Lindsay Hoffman (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson (ETSU))
scored a goal and added an assist in Frostburg State’s 2-0 win over Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Hilbert in women’s soccer action Sunday afternoon.
With the win, FSU became the AMCC Regular Season Champions for the third consecutive year. Frostburg State earned a bye in the first round, but will host the semifinal game on November 2 against a team yet to be announced.
The Bobcats improved to 9-5-2 overall and 8-0-1 in the AMCC, while the Hawks fell to 5-9-2 overall and 1-5-2 in the league.
Hoffman put the first points on the board in the 34th minute off an assist from freshman Tricia Richardson (Gibson Island, Md./St. Mary's), which ended the half 1-0 in favor of Frostburg State.
Junior Danielle Carter (Rockville, Md./Rockville) capped the scoring in the 63rd minute off a feed from Hoffman.
Sophomore Molly Whyte (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) played the entire game and picked up her fourth shutout this season.
Frostburg State returns to action Thursday as it travels to Villa Julie for a non-conference game beginning at 3:30 pm.
