The Frostburg State women’s tennis team dropped all three of its matches at the Penn State Behrend Invitational Saturday.
The Bobcats (0-4) began the day with a 4-1 loss to Allegheny. Senior Charlena Reeves (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) and junior Amber Stewart (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) picked up FSU’s lone victory with a 9-8 win (7-4 tiebreaker) in doubles play. The Gators swept all four singles matches.
FSU then fell to Bethany by a 4-1 margin. Freshmen Heidi Pigozzi (Finleyville, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) and Jenn Tolbert (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) were 8-4 winners in the doubles match, but Bethany captured the four singles contests.
The Bobcats finished the day with a 5-0 loss to Fredonia State. Reeves and fellow senior Aimee Mendoza (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills) came up short in a 9-7 loss in doubles action, and Fredonia State claimed all four singles flights.
Frostburg State returns to action tomorrow when it takes on Penn State Behrend in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match.
