ALTOONA, PA — Penn State Altoona captured four of the five singles matches en route to a 5-2 win over Frostburg State in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match Tuesday afternoon.

The Bobcats (5-5 overall, 3-3 AMCC) captured the No. 1 doubles flight, as freshmen Kirsten Getz (Frostburg, Md./Beall) and Kim Reidler (Frostburg, Md./Beall) defeated Shannon Obermeier and Megan McBroom, 8-5, to improve to 5-0 on the year.

However, the Cougars (9-0, 5-0) tied the match when Theresa Barton and Sarah Obermeier edged senior Kathy Arnold (Grantsville, Md./Northern Garrett) and freshman Amber Geiger (Sykesville, Md./Liberty), 8-5, at the second flight and pulled away with straight-sets wins at the Nos. 2-5 singles spots.

Getz moved to 10-0 overall and 6-0 in the AMCC with FSU's lone singles victory, a 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Erica Wolters at the No. 1 flight.

Reidler fell to Barton, 6-1, 6-2, at the second position, and Arnold dropped a 7-6, 6-3 decision to McBroom at the No. 3 flight.

Freshman Rachel Sooy (Crofton, Md./Arundel) was defeated by Jen Warden, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4, while Geiger fell to Sarah Obermeier, 6-0, 6-1, at the fifth spot.
