NEW ORLEANS, La. -
The Frostburg State women’s track & field program has been named a 2007 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track & Field Coaches Association, Monday.
FSU, which carries a 3.169 team grade-point average, finished in 11th place (15.5 pts.) in the 2006-07 NCAA Indoor National Championships.
In all, 73 women’s programs were recognized as 2007 All-Academic Track and Field Teams.
The University of Wisconsin La Crosse (3.400) and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (3.290) were named the Women’s All-Academic Indoor and Outdoor Team’s of the Year, respectively. La Crosse captured fourth in the Indoor National Championships and placed 10 athletes on the All-Academic team while Oshkosh won its second-consecutive outdoor title.
The selection of the All-Academic Indoor and Outdoor Team’s of the Year award is based on a combination of athletic and academic achievements, with the top honor going to the team that had the best finish at the Division III Indoor and/or Outdoor National Championships and also holding the highest cumulative GPA.
To be nominated, the team must carry a minimum 3.000 cumulative GPA.
