FROSTBURG, MD — Frostburg State University head football coach Rubin Stevenson recently announced the hiring of Trevor Zeiders as the team’s defensive line coach.
"Trevor is a great addition to our coaching staff," said Stevenson, who has guided the Bobcats to Atlantic Central Football Conference titles in each of the last two seasons. "He is a very hard worker, a good recruiter and a welcome addition to the Bobcat football family."
Zeiders comes to FSU from Gettysburg College, where he served as the defensive line coach for three years. He was also the junior varsity defensive coordinator for the 2003 season. Zeiders recruited Pennsylvania, Virginia and Frederick County, Maryland.
"I am very excited to be here and look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead," said Zeiders.
As a student-athlete at West Virginia University, Zeiders was an inside linebacker and long snapper before becoming a student assistant coach for Don Nehlen for the 1999 and 2000 seasons.
He coached the inside linebackers, long snappers, punters and kickers and was on staff in WVU's 49-38 win over Mississippi in the 2000 Music City Bowl.
Zeiders graduated from WVU in 2001 with degrees in both sports management and athletic coaching education.
A native of Harrisburg, Pa., Zeiders was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter on the offensive and defensive lines at West Perry High School.
Also a team captain, he earned numerous high school honors, including first-team all-conference accolades and the West Perry High School Booster Club Player of the Year award.
In addition to football, he was the starting heavyweight on the wrestling team.
