Zych Named AMCC Goalkeeper of the Week

GIBSONIA, PA - Junior goalkeeper Stephanie Zych (Guilderland/Slingerlands, N.Y.) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.

Zych allowed just one goal in Frostburg State’s first two games of the year, both of which went to extra time (220 minutes).

In her last match, Zych made a career-high 19 saves to help the Bobcats to a double-overtime scoreless tie against Wooster in the second game of the Mount Union Invitational.

Averaging 11.5 saves per game, she boasts an AMCC-leading .40 GAA. She also leads the league with 10.3 saves per match.

Last season, Zych led the Bobcats to their best season ever with a conference championship and an appearance in the NCAA tournament. She also set school a single-season record with 17 wins, nine of which were shutouts.

With one more shutout this season, Zych will tie the school record of 11 shutouts in a career currently held by Jessica Richardson, who set the record only two years ago before turning over the goalkeeping duties to Zych.
