ALUMNI AFFAIRS/ANNUAL GIVING SPECIALIST
POSITION NO.: 09-010307-WEB

University Advancement Office seeks applications for a full-time, exempt Alumni Affairs/Annual Giving Specialist, available immediately. Position includes USM benefits package.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under supervision, assists in the administration and implementation of annual giving programs. Develops, oversees, and evaluates assigned area of the campaign; researches, visits, cultivates, solicits, and thanks prospective donors to annual fund; monitors content and substance of mailings to constituents and analyzes past responses; coordinates staff reunion committees. Assists in cultivating and broadening alumni interest in and financial support of the University in developing, strengthening, and implementing both campus and regional alumni programs and in planning and implementing major homecoming and reunion events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience in Development or a related field with a demonstrated record of success. Excellent communication skills; proven ability to represent the University in a professional manner and to interact with external audiences, key volunteers, and senior administrators; strong technical skills; high energy level and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently and maintain confidentiality. The selected individual must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends when necessary and to travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Three to five years related experience.

OTHER: Any combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a related field and progressively responsible related work experience may be considered.

Frostburg State University is located in the Appalachian highlands (elevation 2,000 feet) of western Maryland. Approximately 2100 students reside on campus in 11 traditional halls and one apartment-style community. The main campus covers 260 acres within the town limits of Frostburg (population 7,500). The University also offers courses at the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown and on the Catonsville Campus of the Community College of Baltimore County.
The local region is rich in both history and outdoor activities. Students can visit nearby recreational areas-Rocky Gap, New Germany, and Deep Creek Lake State Parks-which offer camping, boating, swimming, hiking, and skiing. For more information, visit our web page.
