AREA COORDINATOR
POSITION NO.: 08-010237-WEB

Full-time, 12-month live-on professional. Competitive annual salary plus a furnished apartment, meal plan, and USM benefits package. FSU is centrally located between Baltimore, MD, Pittsburgh, PA, and Washington, DC.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervision of 3-6 residence halls housing up to 900 residents; assisting in the selection, training and evaluation of graduate resident directors and undergraduate paraprofessional staff; coordination and support of hall programming, and participation in University's student conduct process. Projects may include the following programs: First Year Experience, Sophomore Year Experience, Academic Peer Mentors, Leadership Development, Substance-free Housing, RHA/NRHH Advising, and academic advising of first-year students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree; 2 years of residence hall experience beyond the undergraduate level; demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population; desire to work closely with students; high level of motivation, energy and creativity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field preferred.

OTHER: Any combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a related field and progressively responsible related work experience may be considered.
