WEB SUPPORT SPECIALIST
POSITION NO.: 08-010241-WEB

Academic Computing Department seeks applications for a Web Support Specialist. This is a full-time, exempt position to include USM benefits package.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide programming, database, server, and content support for the University's web site and environment. Administers the student development web environment, the University's Content Management System, and functions as a backup for Blackboard support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related field plus 2-3 years of web programming and database support experience. Demonstrated proficiency in Web and API programming languages (SQL, HTML, Perl, CSS, ColdFusion). Knowledge or experience with relational database design and concepts. Experience in server administration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. Working experience with IIS and MS-SQL. Experience administering and maintaining Apache Tomcat web application server for Windows. Proven technical writing experience. Experience administering a web-based content management system.

OTHER: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
