ADJUNCT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Frostburg State University is accepting applications in an effort to develop a pool of qualified individuals interested in adjunct teaching positions. Opportunities are available in the College of Business, College of Education, and College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. The University also offers courses at the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown. While applications will be accepted for all disciplines, areas of particular interest include:

COLLEGE OF BUSINESS - Adjunct faculty are needed for Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing. Locations include the Frostburg and Hagerstown campuses. Qualifications: Masters Degree and work experience in appropriate discipline or extensive high-level executive experience required; Ph.D. and teaching experience is preferred.

COLLEGE OF EDUCATION - Adjunct faculty are needed to supervise undergraduate teacher interns in Professional Development Schools. A Master's degree in an education-related field and PreK-12 teaching experience required.

COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS & SCIENCES - The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences seeks adjunct instructors in all areas within the College. These include the Natural & Social Sciences, Humanities and Fine Arts. Areas of highest need for adjuncts include Biology, Computer Science, Geography, Engineering, Music, English, Chemistry, Mathematics, French, Spanish, Communication, Visual Arts (Art and Design), Psychology and Sociology/Social Work.

Frostburg State University is located in the Appalachian highlands (elevation 2,000 feet) of western Maryland. The main campus covers 260 acres within the town limits of Frostburg (population 7,500). The local region is rich in both history and outdoor activities. Faculty & students can visit nearby recreational areas-Rocky Gap, New Germany, and Deep Creek Lake State Parks-which offer camping, boating, swimming, hiking, and skiing.

With an employee ID card, adjunct faculty members enjoy benefit of access to the Lewis J. Ort Library, limited discounts on merchandise in the University Bookstore, use of facilities in the Cordts Physical Education Center, and free admittance to athletic games.
