Editorial Assistant

Frostburg State University seeks applications for an Editorial Assistant. This is a full-time, nonexempt position with USM benefits (http://www.frostburg.edu/hr/benefits/benefits_summary.htm). Hourly rate $15.43.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties in support of the editing and production of materials for a variety of audiences for publication in print and on the Web.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience. General knowledge of standard editorial and production principles and procedures. Skill in using a variety of software packages such as desktop publishing, word processing, and graphics as they relate to the creation, editing, formatting, design, and production of materials for publication. Ability to communicate effectively.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Experience with writing, marketing, strong grammatical and proofreading skills, basic photography skills.

OTHER: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
