UNIVERSITY POLICE OFFICER
POSITION NO.: 10-010337-WEB

Frostburg State University Police Department, a progressive and pro-active agency, is seeking individuals interested in working in a true Community Policing environment. Position includes USM benefits package.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under direct supervision, participates in formal and on-the-job training programs to achieve and maintain requirements of the Maryland Police Training Commission and institutional requirements. Performs the duties of an entry level Police Officer. Ability to work all shifts and overtime as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED; valid Maryland non-commercial Class C or equivalent driver's license. Employees in this job class are required to achieve and maintain certification as specified by the Maryland Police Training Commission and must meet the minimum standards of appointment for Probationary Police Officer as established by the Maryland Police Training Commission.

Applicants who have satisfactorily completed a Maryland Police Training Commission recognized or approved Police Academy Training program and a Police Field Training program and have been certified as a sworn Police Officer recognized by the Maryland Police Training Commission may be appointed at the rank of University Police Officer II.

Salary range 10 ($32,271) for UPO I or range 12 ($36,204) for UPO II.
